You + Me + The Moon 2022
When blending wine goes well, it can feel like magic. In this case, three grapes come together, each lending their own voice to the wine that resolve into something greater and more harmonious than their parts.
2022 was a cool, long year that preserved plenty of freshness in the wines—perfect for a grape like Pinot Gris that wants to show off pretty orchard fruit, and also for Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay, which we prize for their electricity and flintiness, respectively. Taken together, they created one of the most out-and-out delicious wines we’ve ever bottled.
The Pinot Gris and Chardonnay come from Dion Vineyard, a site in the Laurelwood District AVA (formerly/still part of the Chehalem Mountains), which site on windblown loess soils, while the Pinot Blanc hails from the same Twelve Oaks Vineyard that creates Hard Promises. All the wines were pressed, settled, then fermented with native yeasts in older oak barrels, where the wine rested for nearly a year on its primary lees before being racked and bottled unfined/unfiltered. 140 cases made.
